Bartender cover letter example

Hiring managers skim a bartender cover letter for one thing: proof you can do this job, in their words. Below is a short letter that does exactly that. Replace the bracketed parts and the results with yours.

Dear Hiring Manager,

I'm applying for the Bartender role at [Company]. My background in one line: bartender with 5 years in cocktail bars and hotel lounges.

Two results from my last roles that match what you're asking for:
- Serve up to 300 guests a night at a 40-seat cocktail bar.
- Designed a seasonal cocktail menu that raised bar sales by 22%.

I also kept pour cost under 18% with jiggers, counts and weekly inventory. Day to day I work with Classic & craft cocktails, Upselling, Cash handling & POS and Inventory control, which your posting lists among the core requirements.

I'd welcome a short call to walk through how I'd approach [a priority from the job ad] in the first 90 days.

Best regards,
Ryan O'Neill

Why this letter works

It is short. Under 200 words: it gets read to the end.
Results, not duties. Both proof points carry a number a recruiter can repeat to the team.
It mirrors the posting. Classic & craft cocktails, Upselling, Cash handling & POS, Inventory control are the words bartender ads use; swap in the exact terms from yours.
It asks for a next step tied to their priorities, not a generic "hope to hear from you".

Mistakes that get bartender cover letters skipped

Repeating the resume line by line instead of picking the two results that fit this job.
"I am a hard-working team player": claims without evidence are ignored.
One letter for every application. The ATS and the recruiter both notice.
