Every public 8-K filing lives on SEC EDGAR the moment it's filed, but nobody clusters the ones that actually matter: bankruptcy notices, restated financials, delisting warnings, accelerated-debt triggers, officer departures. Flare ranks the 50 companies piling them up fastest right now, and for any ticker reads the real filing history live — with insider selling alongside it, and the severity trend quarter by quarter.

Live data: SEC EDGAR full-text search (efts.sec.gov), the official ticker→CIK map (sec.gov/files/company_tickers.json) and Form 4 insider transactions (data.sec.gov/submissions + the filing's own XML), all relayed through a same-origin proxy in this Lab's own server — no key, no third-party account, the proxy exists only because SEC's CORS support for browser calls is inconsistent. Full-text search only indexes filings from 2001 onward. Item 5.02 covers both officer departures and new appointments, so an "officer change" tag means the filing touched that item, not necessarily a departure — open the filing to check which. Insider selling only looks at the most recent Form 4 filings (open-market sales, code "S"; option exercises and gifts are excluded) — it is a recent window, not the company's full history.
