Every cash on delivery order you ship is a bet: if the customer refuses the parcel, or never meant to buy, you pay the courier twice and get the goods back weeks later. In India, where COD is 60–65% of online orders, COD parcels come back 25–30% of the time against 2–3% for prepaid ones. The cheapest fix is asking before you ship: one WhatsApp message with two buttons, Confirm and Cancel.
The replies arrive through the Cloud API webhook the plugin already uses for delivery status; there is no server of ours in between.
Category Utility, two quick-reply buttons. Build or check them in the free WhatsApp template builder.

You pay Meta's utility rate directly: about $0.0014 per message to India, $0.0068 to Brazil, $0.0034 to the US (list price, 1 October 2026). A thousand COD confirmations to India cost about $1.40; a single refused parcel usually costs more than that in shipping both ways. Work out your own numbers with the WhatsApp cost calculator, and what refused parcels cost you now with the COD RTO cost calculator.

If you don't want your own Meta account, a per-message service like Fast2SMS is the simpler start. If you already have one, or want your number and templates to stay yours, a one-time plugin that talks to Meta directly is the cheapest over a year.
