What it shows

Natural events currently open in NASA's curated index: wildfires, volcanoes, severe storms, sea and lake ice and more. Each one has a name, a category, a date and the source that reported it. Categories come from the feed itself, so new ones appear on their own. The exposure chip asks what the feed does not say: for every active GDACS Orange or Red earthquake, flood, volcano and wildfire, which named hospitals, schools, power plants, dams and airports in OpenStreetMap sit inside the impact polygon GDACS itself publishes, each tested against the real shape.

Where the data comes from

NASA EONET (Earth Observatory Natural Event Tracker) API v3, open events from the last 60 days; refreshed every hour.
