What it shows

Air temperature 2 m above the ground, drawn as a continuous field over the view. The colour scale is fixed, so the same temperature always has the same colour whatever the zoom. The readout also gives the apparent ("feels like") temperature.

Where the data comes from

NOAA GFS 0.25° global model (public domain), baked on our server every hour into a 2° grid from 24 h ago to 48 h ahead; values between grid points are interpolated.

Reading the map

Absolute scale from deep blue at -40 °C through green to red at 48 °C.

Units Degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit (switchable).
